Some JVB on Kant

Comes from Kant's Critique of Pure Reason by Jill Vance Buroker. Upcoming paper due on The Transcendental. The TC'Dental is the "grill" of the Critique of Pure Reason, and for that reason is kind of like Dr. Dre's The Chronic. It's what changed philosophy into gangster rap. Errr....it's what changed Metaphysics into a legitimate foundation in the same way that Gangster Rap transformed Hip Hop into popular music. At the very least both professed to smack a bitch, given that your bitch is the foundations of knowledge or just a crack whore, respectively.

In the same way, both philosophers revisited their material roughly ten years later. Kant's B version of the Critique of Pure Reason basically answered many of his critics. Dr. Dre's Chronic 2001 brought into play a very well known rapper, Eminem, and sealed a dynasty that lasts to this day, about 20 years after his inaugural work as a solo artist. Maybe it would be helpful to consider Kant's B version of the Transcendental Deduction as his Eminem.

  1. As with all Academia and the entire English Language, don't take it for granted that Jill Vance Buroker is a man or a woman. It's just a philosopher until you know the difference.

I made that mistake too too often with Hilary Putnam, the great philosopher (man).
